Wandering Eye

When I was younger, much younger than I am today, I would spend my summers, or at least the late part of my summers helping the local farmers put up their hay.  It had to be late summer because early summer up here in Western Washington always has the chance for rain.  Late July, and into August was the time to put up hay because it can't be put it up wet.  Wet hay will rot and molder, which produces heat...enough heat, believe it or not, to cause spontaneous combustion.  Many a barn has been lost to wet hay, hence the adage, "Make hay while the sun shines."  In case you hadn't guessed by now, this time out the Wandering Eye has landed on "Hay".

Nice post. With our farms seemingly decreasing around the country, it's nice to see so many hay bales here! Well done, Steve! Thanks for having me!
